Mr Sarmad Tamimy is an esteemed consultant plastic surgeon based in Nottingham who specialises in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. With more than 25 years of experience, he offers the full range of cosmetic surgical procedures, including breast augmentation, arm lift, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), face and neck lift, labiaplasty, and breast reconstruction using micro vascular free-flaps, local flaps and implants. Alongside his NHS work at Nottingham University Hospitals, Mr Tamimy currently sees patients at Spire Nottingham Hospital and The Redcliffe Rooms.
Mr Tamimy’s surgical experience spans across the UK and Pakistan. Originally qualifying from Quaid-e-Azam University in 1996, he initially trained as a general surgeon, completing fellowship training with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. Following his training, Mr Tamimy undertook several posts at Pakistan’s Combined Military Hospital, during which he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Tamimy later accomplished fellowship training in plastic surgery with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan as well before relocating to the UK for higher training in microsurgery, cosmetic surgery, and oncology reconstructive surgery at Nottingham City Hospital. Mr Tamimy was awarded his FRCS(Plast) from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2014.
Further to his comprehensive surgical practice, Mr Tamimy is closely involved in clinical research and medical education. He is a member of the Joint Committee of Intercollegiate Examinations’ FRCS(Plast) MCQ Writing Group and a member of the National Selection Panel’s ST3 Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of numerous professional organisations, such as the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, and the author of multiple peer-reviewed publications.
